Dealing with Folders Folders are a way of categorising e-mails and are essential if you wish ot have a tidy and orderly e-mail client. You can end up with lots of e-mails and any particular e-mail could be difficult to find if you have to scroll through alist of 50 or more so creatig folders to put e-mails in makes sense. For example you could have a folder for any web site subscriptions you have to make, Fred could have a folder ofr the e-mails he sends you as could James and then instead of taking ages to scroll through reams and reams of e-mails lookig for a user name and password for a particular web site you just go to the subscriptions folder and you have reduced the number of e-mails you have to look through drastically and you only have subscriptions to look through.
So, how do we create folders in outlook Express? it's done in the following way: 1. Place your mouse pointer on the folder you wish to create another folder in, (as you most likely will wish to create a folder that shows in the folder list you would select the Local Folders at the top of the list) as shown in the example on the right and you will see a large window open up with a list of all the folders in it. 2. Place the mouse pointer on the Local Folders that you have just selected and press the right mouse button 3. From the resulting right click menu click on the New Folder option, a dialogue box will be displayed asking you for the name of the new folder. 4. Type in a name for the new folder (in this example you can see that I have created a new folder called subscriptions at the bottom of the original list shown on the right) and click on the OK button
