Saving a Picture and Text

A note about copyright, I do not condone any breaches of copyright although to be honest I can understand it at times but it has to be mentioned here. If you see a picture or piece of text on the Internet, more than likely it belongs ot someone and that person has certain rights in place to protect thier work. Please ask any appropriate person or organisation for relevant permission to download, print or copy any material from the Internet.

This is done in a similar way to printing out a picture and text but instead of sending the picture or text you wish to save to the printer you will save it on the hard disk. (NOTE:- not all pictures and text found on the internet are available for printing out) The steps to take are outlined below:

To save a picture to disk:

1. Find the picture you wish to save

2. Right click on the picture

3. Select the Save picture as option

4. You will see a standard Windows folder navigation box asking you where you widh to store the picture, select a folder

5. Click on the save button

To save text to disk:

This is slightly different in that you need ot copy the text to some type of text editor such as Microsoft Word or Notepad in order to save the text as a document.

1. Select the text you wish to save to disk

2. Place the mouse pointer right at the very beginning of the text you wish to save, (the mouse pointer will change into an I)

3. Press and hold down the left mouse button

4. Whilst keeping the left mouse button pressed, drag the mouse pointer (the I) to just after the last letter of the text

5. Release the left mouse button and you should have a section of highlighted (selected) text (don't click on any of the rest fo the page or you will lose the highlight and have to go through steps 2 to 4 again to get it back)

6. Right click on the highlighted (selected) text and from the resulting menu select the Copy Option

7. Open a text editor and right click on any blank area of the page

8. From the resulting menu select the paste option

9. you should now have the text printed on the page of your text editor, now go through the File>Save options in the text editor to save the text to disk.
