Printing from Internet Explorer

First of all a note about copyright, I do not condone any breaches of copyright although to be honest I can understand it at times but it has to be mentioned here. If you see a picture or piece of text on the Internet, more than likely it belongs ot someone and that person has certain rights in place to protect thier work. Please ask any appropriate person or organisation for relevant permission to download, print or copy any material from the Internet.

There will be times when you come across some text which you think will fit into your college project or you may wish to print out a recipe, if you have a working and configured printer attached to your computer printing it out is quite easy from Internet Explorer.

The following steps will guide you through printing anything from a web page:

For textual material:

1. Find the item of text that you wish to print out

2. Place your mouse pointer at the very beginning of the text

3. Press and hold down the left mouse button

4. Keeping the left mouse button held down drag the mouse pointer to the end of the section of text that you wish to print out

5, Right click on the section of text you have just highlighted (don't left click on it or you will lose the selection and have to do it again)

6. From the resulting menu, select print option, (this will take you into your printers print facility and a dialogue box relevant to your printer will come up, they are all slightly different but somewhere in there there are options for printing the selection, all etc.)

7. From the print dialogue boxes ensure that you check (plase a tick or make a mark) in the selection or print selection option

8. Following the rest of the instructions in your printer dialogue boxes will now enable you to print out that bit of text you have selected (highlighted)

For printing out a picture (NOTE:- not all pictures and material found on the Internet is printable):

1. Find the picture you wish to print out

2. Right click on the picture

3. Select the print option from the resulting menu

4. follow steps 7 and 8 above to print the picture out.
